No Biggie mash-up has ever hit me like J. Period’s March 9 tapes, the lyrics & instrumentals on it just fit. If you’re not up on it you’re about 2 years late. Allow me to assist you. R.I.P to Brooklyns Finest
Killin it not so softly.

I’m not sure whether to be excited or mad about this one. It’s good to see dope artists make it big time, but the mainstream is where initially-indy artists go to die. Also, I hate seeing a song I love getting played out. That’s kind of how I feel about ‘Nothin on You’ right now. But props to Bobby Ray, hopefully he can follow up with another hit. Im gunnin for it.
Oh yeah, see if you can catch the Cassie cameo, shes still looking fly.
The dudes over at @2dopeboyz were nice enough to share this mixtape put together by Dj Whoo Kid. After giving it the listen through its safe to say that it’s pretty representative of the freshman lineup. The only thing that made the mixtape almost unbearable were Whoo Kid’s drops, they are annoying as hell. He’s pretty much the modern-day Dj Clue (really tacky to me). But hit the jump for the lineup & download.
After a successful debut album, Kid Cudi is already working on another album titled “Cudder.” Hit the jump for some possible Cudder leaks produced by Dot Da Genius and Dr. Dre!
Peep the Stylo video by the Gorillaz. The graphics are sick and the Bruce Willis cameo is on point.

Kind of sad to see a dope group go out, but at least they’re doing it with a bang. The rap duo (now 9th wonder-less), plans to release its final album on April 20th. Here’s a peek of what they have to offer…

Random fact about LB : BET refused to play lead single off the Minstrel Show “Lovin’ It,” allegedly deeming it “too intelligent.”

So according to news sources Guru is doing better. But in true big media fashion they’ve managed to dig up some drama in a good situation. Don’t pay attention too all that Guru, Premier & Solar beef. That junk is bullshit, focus on the music everybody! Dwyck after the jump! Read the rest of this entry »
Talk about killing em. Bambu & Prometheus Brown (from Blue Scholars) rep & rip this beat HARD.
If you didn’t know, March 9th has become synonymous with the passing of Hip-Hop legend Biggie Smalls. This March 9th it looks as if there is going to be some heat dropped on the streets.
Gorillaz “Plastic Beach” will feature the likes of Snoop Dogg, Bobby Womack, Mos Def, De La Soul, & Little Dragon. The “Experience” edition will also come with a complementary DVD containing what I would imagine to be, signature Gorrilaz visuals.
Kids In The Hall “Land of Make Believe” will showcase production and lyrics from Just Blaze, MC Lyte, Colin Munroe, Donnis, & Amanda Diva.
